Getting started

Get started with Sendtim

2 min read · Updated

A Sendtim workspace holds your contacts, templates, campaigns and automations. Everyone you invite works in the same workspace, with a role that decides what they can change. This is the shortest path from an empty workspace to a first campaign in someone’s inbox.

1. Add your company details

Open Settings → Company details and fill in your company name and mailing address. They appear in the footer of every campaign, next to the unsubscribe link, which is what anti-spam laws expect of a marketing email. You can also change the wording of the unsubscribe and email preferences links, for example to write them in your audience’s language.

2. Verify a sending domain

Campaigns are sent from an address on your own domain, so mailbox providers can check the mail really comes from you. Add the domain in Settings → Sending domains and publish the DNS records it shows. Until a domain is verified, campaigns can only be sent in mock mode.

The full walkthrough is in Verify your sending domain.

3. Bring in your contacts

Import a CSV from Contacts → Import, add people one at a time, or collect new subscribers with a signup form. Import only people who agreed to hear from you: Sendtim records consent with each contact, and skips suppressed addresses on every import.

4. Decide who hears what

Group contacts into lists when you decide who belongs, and segments when a rule should decide, such as “opened a campaign in the last 30 days”. Campaigns are sent to any mix of the two. See Organize contacts with lists and segments.

5. Send your first campaign

Start a campaign from scratch, from a template, or from a short brief that AI turns into a draft. Send yourself a test, choose the audience, then schedule it or send it right away. Create, schedule and send a campaign covers each step.

Everything you send shows up on the Overview and Analytics pages: deliveries, opens, clicks, and how your audience grows over time.
